Your notification emails now show what happened at a glance.
Each email opens with a summary bar of up to five tabs: Discussions, Block, Column Watch, Card, and Task. Each tab shows how many updates you have of that type, and the details below are grouped under the same headings.
Check your next email notification from Kanban Zone. We hope you enjoy the new look of your emails.
Reminders now include a Custom Dates option, so date-time custom fields show up next to your card, task, and block dates.
Open Reminders in the left navigation to view all four types of reminders.

You can now add a time to a newly created Date custom field. As well as set reminders with deadlines.
Creating any custom fields requires the Advanced Features organization permission β check with your organization owner or someone with organization permissions if you don't see the option. Once the custom field is created and assigned to a board, anyone with board access can see and use the Date-type custom field, or any other enabled custom fields.
Teams tracking pickup and return windows, deadlines, or other time-sensitive dates no longer need a separate time field or manual tracking to keep track of what's coming up.
Go to the board's custom field settings to create a new Date-type custom field and start customizing it.

You can now keep a column sorted automatically instead of dragging cards back into order.
Open the column menu and select Reorder Cards. Choose Ascending or Descending, pick the field to sort by, then turn on Keep sorted automatically.
This applies to the whole board, so everyone sees the same order in that column.
The highest priority card stays at the top on its own, with no one maintaining it by hand.
Open any column menu, select Reorder Cards, and set your sort order.

You can now connect an AI assistant, such as Claude, directly to your organization via our hosted MCP. Once connected, it can read your boards, create cards, add checklists, and help move work forward, right from the AI tool you already use.
The Organization Owner or anyone with the AI & Integrations permission can enable this and decide which team members have access.
How it works:
Follow these setup instructions to get the MCP server URL and understand how it works.
Access is OFF by default, so nothing changes until you turn it on. Every AI action shows up separately in card history from your own actions, so you always know what a human did and what an AI did.
Your team already uses AI assistants daily. This connects that work directly to your boards instead of leaving it in a separate chat window.

Deadline is here. You can now mark any Target Date as a deadline, making it clear which dates are firm commitments versus general targets.
This applies to all board members.
As part of this update, Start Date and Target Date are now separate fields (previously combined into one). This gives cleaner, more accurate date tracking on every card.
No more digging through cards to figure out which dates actually matter.
Go to any card's Dates section, set a Target Date, and check Make it a deadline.

You can now watch individual tasks on a card, not just whole cards.
This applies to all board members.
Click the watcher icon on any task to add yourself or a teammate. Two new My Zone widgets, Tasks I Watch and Tasks I Watch Completed, show you the status of everything you're tracking. My Zone widgets are now also drag and drop and resizable (1x, 2x, 3x), so you can lay out your dashboard the way you work.
Delegate work and stay informed without asking for status updates.
Go to a card's Tasks section to start watching, or open My Zone to add the new widgets.

You can now choose exactly how and when Kanban Zone emails you.
This applies to your personal notification settings.
Pick one of three modes: Off (no emails), Smart (our recommended defaults), or Custom (you choose). With Custom, turn on notifications by category, mentions, assigned tasks, watched columns, blocked cards, comments, and task changes, and set how often you get them: every 1, 3, 6, or 24 hours.
The emails themselves are better, too. Notifications for the same card are now grouped together instead of arriving one by one, and you can click straight into a task from the email, including its notes, without digging through the board first.
Less noise, faster access to what actually needs your attention.
,
Go to your notification settings in Account > Notifications and pick the mode that fits how you work.

You can now invite partners, vendors, and clients to be Commenters without a paid license. The Commenter role is now part of your free guest allowance, alongside Viewer.
Commenters can view boards, subscribe to cards, and communicate through comments β making this the right role for external stakeholders who need visibility and a voice without editing access.
Previously, only the Viewer role was available to free guests. Paid licenses now cover only the Administrator and Collaborator roles.
Each plan includes a free guest allowance; see the Pricing page for more details.
To invite someone as a free guest Commenter, open your board and go to Board Settings > Members.

Cards no longer open as floating on top of your board. You can now view any card in a right-side panel or in full-screen mode, keeping your board visible and in context while you work.
The panel layout also allows multiple panels to be open simultaneously.
This is in preparation for what's coming next: the AI Card agent, which will run alongside your card in its own panel to help you define outcomes, structure work, and move faster.
Open any card and use the view controls at the top-right to switch between panel and full-screen mode.

Your Alerts panel has been replaced by two dedicated panels: Notifications and Reminders.
This redesign was built almost entirely from client feedback, and the goal is simple: less noise, more control, without leaving the panel.
Notifications are now organized into three tabs:
Reminders are now organized into three tabs, each type clearly separated so nothing gets buried:
BONUS: Clicking a task now opens the card with that task in focus. No more hunting for the task!
Try it now using the Notifications and Reminders buttons in your left navigation.
